Recent Tasting Notes

Deschuttes Red Chair IPA - tastes good, but missing something - sublime bitterness. I suspect hop extract, which was used masterfully in Lagunitas' Hop Stoopid, which wasn't as bitter as it could have been, but was still good. When blended with Stone Ruination IPA it was perfection in a glass. Speaking of Ruination, i had an opportunity to sample it in a cask. It was quite good, but i'm not sure i like what cask conditioning does to IPA's. The extra carbonation and bitterness is a good thing imho.
